Tools to carry on a bike ride

I have not written too much about the bike since I got it, really I've not used it as much as I would like but I hope this situation will change with the promise to get in a good shape again and more sunshine.

Last weekend arrived at home the children's trailer for the bicycle. Marta and me were eager to test it with twins, so Friday's afternoon we assembled all the pieces to arrange a short ride in the Saturday's morning.

What that "all pieces" means?. The trailer was easy to set up, the bicycles was ok, wheels with proper air pressure, some water, oilskins... but what if we prick or some screw was not properly adjusted? What tools should I carry on a ride like this?. These are the ones I thought:

  • Set of allen wrenches.
  • A wrench.
  • A couple of inner tubes for the wheel tyres.
  • An air pump.
  • A swiss army knife (always helps).

And there we were, twins, Marta and me, the bikes, the trailer, and that set of tools... ready to start a short ride and have fun in the morning. The ride was really nice, lot of fun with the trailer. We left home with a cloudy - and rainy warning - day. I must admit it's hard to drive in first meters but once you get used to it, it's really funny.

Best part is when you tries to stop (to make a photo or something like that) and the children protests, they want to go faster. Once finished, at home, I felt the weight of the trailer on my tired legs. I'm not on my best shape but it was one of best rides.
